Acupressure

Acupressure is a traditional healing practice that uses the Chinese medical theory of meridians or pathways and their relationships with the organs. Finger pressure (instead of needles) is applied to specific acupoints on the body. These specific points on the surface of the skin awaken the body's natural self-healing abilities. When these acupressure points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life-force energy, Chi, (Qi) to promote health and healing. Using the same points as acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, acupressure applies a comfortable range of pressure from gentle to firm. Acupressure is well integrated with other bodywork and energy therapies such as therapeutic touch, somatic work, healing imagery, energy psychology, psychotherapy and massage therapy.
